Effective October 29, 2026

This page explains what simonhertz.com collects and why. In short: only what you choose to send us, plus visit statistics. Nothing is sold.

Newsletter sign-ups

When you sign up for Desk Notes, we keep your email address and whether you chose the weekly digest or every new post. We first email you a confirmation link, and you're only added once you click it. Emails are sent through Brevo, our email provider, which stores your address for that purpose. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from future emails.

Contact messages

If you use the contact form, your name, email address, topic and message are sent to our inbox (through Brevo) so we can reply. We use them only to answer you.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use this site, for example which pages are read and whether someone signs up. It uses cookies, and Google processes this information under its own privacy policy. We turned off Google's advertising features, so this information isn't used to show you ads. You can opt out with Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes basic technical information, such as IP addresses, to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.

Links to Amazon and other sites

Book links go to Amazon and other stores, which have their own privacy policies.
